Lights! Camera! Recap?

“Boy this is fun!”

I had big fun working with the core team. At first, I thought that being the documentarian would just consist of me recording all day, I thought it would be easy. Documenting turned out to be very hard. I learned that you have to be very organized. I forgot to label some of the tapes and I lost a day of editing searching tapes for shots. Also, a steady hand is very important while filming. I found that shakey shots make editing very tedious. It would have been easier to edit if I learned these lessons before I started documenting.

The movie premier was incredible. It was everything I pictured it to be. The size of the crowd was perfect and the movie burned just in time for the showing! Although there was a lack of food I still had a great time. After the viewing of the documentary there was time for the audience to ask questions. I was very nervous. Me standing in front of an audience is not my cup of tea. I was relieved by the fact that none of the questions were directed towards me. The audience, full of family and friends, seemed to really enjoy the movie. They laughed at all the right moments and I couldn’t hear any side conversation. Now that we’re preped and know what to expect, I’m sure the next premier will be an even better experience. HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE FOOD!!!

Commercial: Divided/United

This student produced commercial asks the questions, “What divides us?” and “What unites us?” in an effort to get people thinking and talking about the central theme in Division 201.

Production Process

We all have been very busy and tired these last 4 weeks. The premiere is on Friday, August 1st, and all of the mentors are trying to have all assignments done before Thursday. My team, Design Team, has a to get every done before the end of day on Wednesday. The only reason for that is because we have all the designs for the DVD case, t-shirts, poster, and CDs cases. The music team is finished with the soundtrack and are almost done with the score. The core team and production team are hard at work to finish up the rough edit of the movie and start working on the final edit. We only have 1 day left until deadline and then we all will be happy. The final week was busy but on Friday every can just chill for good. I am glad that the premiere is near because all this hard work IS going to pay off.

Terrence’s Interview

Here is an interview with the writer/cinematographer/co-editor of “Division 201″

Division 201 Marketing Team

Today, i checked in with the Division 201 design team (Jaylen, Jamari, Micah, and Monseuir). I watched them as they created storyboards, templates, and even a political cartoon featuring the Power Rangers! Micah was the artist of the group, drawing up the storyboards and design for the Division 201 T-Shirt. Jamari also pitched in, using his artistic skill to create an official mug for the movie. Jaylen and Monseuir stayed on the humorous side and finally finished the political cartoon they had been working on. I was privileged not only to work with them, but just to watch them work. I’m sure everyone will enjoy the products of their imagination!

What’s goin down

We are beginning the final week of post-production! Me, Shakara and Tiranne are editing the commercial for the movie. All the little kids everywhere are playing games on the computers. There is music down the hall… the commercial is a bit too long, so right now we’re working on taking stuff out. I had to sneak and eat fries from the McDonalds bag because we’re not supposed to have food in here. Then why am I saying it on a blog? Everyone is going to see!

Alright, I’ll keep you all updated on any more things that happen around here. Peace
